Tweeting Naval History

Although America’s first overseas war waged in the late 1790s may be relatively lost in the mind of the general public, that doesn’t mean the undeclared naval war doesn’t deserve attention today. What better way to bring attention than one of the most popular social media platforms today, Twitter. Of course, such technology was not available to intrepid commanders like Truxtun, Decatur, and Barry back then. But what if it was? What would they say? Here’s a fun way to learn a little 18th century political and naval history under the backdrop of social media technology.
