Napoleon’s Wars and the Mystery of the Clifford Maps: June 13

Napoleon introduced Europe to a new style of open warfare - one that required gigantic armies that could travel rapidly across vast territories. Maps played a pivotal role in determining military strategy and logistics, directly affecting the outcome of battles.

On Wednesday, June 13th travel back to the Napoleonic era with Dr. Frederick C. Schneid of High Point University, and examine the mystery surrounding McMaster’s Clifford Collection of maps with Gordon Beck, McMaster University Library maps specialist.
