Berezina crossings

I am working on some Polish accounts of the 1812 campaign.

One of the things that delights me about this period is that you keep on learning new stuff.

For instance I did not know that Dombrowski's division constructed four bridges over the Berezina in the autumn of 1812. The first at Panskiewicze, the second at Świsłowcz, the third at Jakszyce, the fourth at the town of Berezyna.

Of course, the French were forced to use Borisov, which was burnt, but it is interesting to see that there were alternative plans.
