On 24th December 1800, while the coach of the First Consul drove in rue Nicaise, a ‘machine infernale’ exploded. If Bonaparte was not injuried, the explosion led to important destructions and a lot of victims. A new form of violence appeared with a particular operating mode and specific injuries. However, the attack seemed to be a resurgence of the Terror and the latest incarnation of revolutionary unrest.
