I would say the economy of Russia (and Sweden too) was being equally wrecked by the interruption of exports to Great Britain; further, those exports (in addition to furs they were mostly timber, tar, hemp and other naval stores) were vital for British seapower.
Actually I have wondered if Napoleon's great naval program wasn't driven at least partially by his wish to import naval stores from Sweden and Russia, as a tool to avoid an economic crisis that would force Bernadotte and the Tsar to realign their alliances...
