Note that during the 1812 War, only the Russian Guards (including Life-Guards Hussars Regiment) were re-equipped with the kiver of a new pattern (the rest of the Russian army received it in 1813-14). The major distinction was also a kiver’s cord of facing colors, that is, white or yellow. However, new research reveals that the Elizabetgradsky and Pavlogradsky Hussars regiments both were given red facing colors, effective approx. 1809-11 (based on the furniture of the existing dolman in possession of the Moscow Museum of History)

Note that the master work of “Viskovatov’s” contains numerous mistakes and omissions. More new info on Russian Hussars, see in article of Alexander Valkovich in the Russian periodical magazine “Tzeihgauz.”
