domaines extraordinaires
In Response To: N`s domaine extraordinaire ()

"Ha! I have been surfing and have found a few indicators of N`s piggy bank. "

So gleeful.

However, if you could choke back your bias long enough to actually do even the most meagre reseach, you would be able to note that the crown holdings of the French Empire were by no means odd at a level of 500 million francs.
They were on a par with Denmark and Prussia.
They were more than in Spain, but the Spanish crown also took an additional share of the Indies trade.
They were quite lower than Britain.
And for Russia .... well our feudal friends were not even up to separating the crown holdings from the government ... the Tsar held the whole country in grand-fief direct from God Himself !

Research ieading to rational comparisons and balanced judgments is sadly so rare among modern historians, leading to my DEEP DISTRUST of the biased and ill-informed drivel that they pass off as scholarship to the gullible man in the street.

"Ha!" indeed.
