One of the legends about the 31st Chasseurs is that some of their elements were armed with lances. John Elting states that they were on Page 239 of Swords around the Throne. In his article for the Napoleon Series, Roberto Scattolin states that they were armed with them in Italy in 1813 - 1814.

Does anyone know when they first started using the lance? Is there any sources that say they used it in Spain?
