No, because of the 'translation' that was first given in the posting (ie, the use of 'could') I haven't in any translation of the order in which 'could' was used. Every time I have seen the translation of the order, the word used was 'can.'

Perhaps you can give us your translation of the order.

And, interestingly, it was an order, not a request. Bernadotte was given an 'either/or' choice-be in Dornburg as previously ordered (which he was not) or go with Davout. Bernadotte chose to disobey.
