I believe that perspectives change when one goes from subordinate to commander, no matter what the level. Good officers seek command at any level and some have problems working for superiors who clearly don't know what they are doing.

That attitude is also present in civilian professions.

It's better to be the boss, but everyone is not qualified to be the boss.
