Alexander Sauerweid's Battle Paintings.

Alexander Sauerweid, 1783-1844:

Painter. Born Courland 1783, died St Petersburg 1844. Studied in Dresden. 1814 moved to St Petersburg where worked as a drawing instructor for the Russian princes. 1831 director of St Petersburg academy.
