Re: A la queue d'une compagnie du centre

Maybe this means the unit was dissolved and the men distributed to center companies of other regiments, with zero seniority to avoid or extremely delay their future promotion ?

Do you have the full text of this orde du jour ?

In 1806, Czarnotta v. Wiezlinsky was Seconde-Lieutenant with the grenadiers of Infanterie-Regiment v. Arnim [IR 13]. In 1806, he "deserted and joined the Isenburg corps". later, he was dishonorabily dismissed ("kassiert").

"Desertion" in this context could well mean that he was taken prisoner at or after Auerstedt and joined the Régiment de Prusse as officer, without having received permission and leave from the Prussian king.
