As far as I can see from your links the only prosecutions were for libel - and those were for suggesting a homosexual motive which the Duke had to challenge.

There was plenty of other publicity about the business which went unpunished; one of your links for instance, which was published in 1810:

"A Minute Detail of the Attempt to assassinate ... the Duke of Cumberland ... in a letter to W. I. Esq. preceded by the depositions before the chief magistrate ... and the coroner; with a plan of the Duke's apartments, etc"

Obviously taking the official line about the incident but still an example of a free press.
