Re: 3-pdr Regiment Canon (Denmark)

As the Napoleonic zeitgeist seems to be focussing on Denmark and Scandinavia at the moment, in a follow-up to my enquiry above, I thought would share this thread turned up on a Napoleonic sub forum 'in another place.'

With an intriguing circularity, at one point the OP references this very thread on NSDF.

He has provided links to a number of Danish and Norwegian museum and living history websites; this brief 1946 article was of particular interest.

(No, I dont speak Danish or Norwegian either!)

The article includes drawings by the Danish illustrator Andreas Bloch (d.1917) who, for better or worse, has been the most important influence on the visual interpretation of this period of Scandinavian history for the best part of century. For those who haven't seen his collaboration with Colonel Heinrich Angell
Syv-aars-krigen for 17. mai 1807-1814, (1914)
they are in for a visual treat. If you speak Danish, even better. Unquestionably of their time, the illustrations are a rich mix of romanticism and realism in the tradition of de Neuville and Philipotteaux, Butler and Caton Woodville.
