Many thanks !
The Prussian soldier who mentions Adams in his recollections (which were written 50 years later), was a young volunteer. He became an officer later though.
Beeing part of a small detachment of 30 men of his unit, the Pommersches National-Kavallerie-Regiment, he was roaming in the area at the same time as Adams. These must be the Prussians mentioned in the Gedenkboek on p. 246, and wrongly identified in the footnote.
He says Adam wore a red coat ("ein rother Rock) - could be a British uniform, could be a red civilian coat. Adams' men had civilian clothes, pikes and knives, and an orange flag ("Orangefahne"). Or does this refer to a flag with the arms of Orange-Nassau ?
