According to family tradition, the Dömitz manuscript was painted in 1813 by "the young son of the commander of the fortress Dömitz, colonel v. Röder".

v. Röder or v. Roeder was commander the fortess Dömitz from 1808 until 1821. Probably, his Christian names were Carl Friedrich Reinhard.
