Napoleon a genius on all military matters ? I rather doubt that.

What was the knwoledge for instance about the fysiological limitations of the horses that were so necessary for using artillery and cavalry
The veterinarian science and treatments were still in their infancy years and there was an acute lack of general insight into
infectious diseases and prevention for horses (not to say also for humans.)
Also the militarian veteranrians in that time had only extremely few effective treatment methods for diseases of the horses.

After losing practically all the horses of his Grande Armée, he never was able to reconstitute his horse force to the necessary level;

My source : Vlaams Diergeneeskundig Tijdschrift, 2015, 84 - article "De Maréchal-Vétérinaire in de Grande Armée
van Napoleon (1805-1815)", written by a professor of Veterinaire Fysiologie en Biochemie, Departement Diergeneeskunde,
