I have a detailed book on the pattern and individual fate of french flags for infantry, cavalry, artillery and guard.

The only flags mentioned are regimental, with strong symbolic meaning, flag per batalion in earlier periods, or guidon for practical evolution of smaller units . No flag assigned to whole brigade, division or corps.

But perhaps there was some sign associated with the location of the division / corps headquarter ?
