to settle another dispute.

Was the general tactical combat in the Revolutionary & Napoleonic Wars:
- more orientated towards the way of the 7YW, in my view infantry in line formation advancing and firing at each other till one gave way
or
- more orientated towards the attack in column formation on a defender that was preferably disorder by skirmisher and/or artillery fire?
