Captain Gouache at Villa de Puerco *LINK*

On 11 July 1810, Captain Gouache and his company grenadiers successfully formed a square and held off four squadrons of British cavalry at Villa de Puerco. It was the combat where Lieutenant Colonel Neil Talbot was killed in the charge.

I have a few questions.

1. What was his first name?

2. Marshal Massena recommended he and Sergeant Patois be awarded the Legion of Honor. Did they receive it? Neither are listed in the Base Lonore.

3. Captain Gouache was also recommended for promotion by Marshal Massena. Was he promoted?
