I’m researching Lines of Torres Vedras looking for sources on how the redoubts were stocked with ordnance ie how many canister vs round shot, scrapnel per gun. Also, was there any test shooting for either training or to determine effectiveness of location. I’ve found a few mentions of getting ammunition to the various locations, but very little detail. I’ve not read the Dickson papers yet, the nearest library with a copy is a 4 hour drive each way, there are two copies for sale, but I’m reluctant to spend a considerable sum for a book which it’s not clear that the volume will contain the relevant information. I looked at Hathi online and it appears that pages are not available to read. Now, I’m not used that site previously, so I may have misunderstood, I don’t have access thru a library.
