I just published a little article on how Grenadier Durand of the Consular Guard spent his Christmas Eve of 1800.

Nicolas Durand was a grenadier in the 4th Company, 1st Squadron, of the Grenadiers à cheval of the Consular Guard in 1800.

I looked at his role on the night the Infernal Machine was detonated. But what I don't say is what happened to him next.

And I confess I don't know what became of him from 1801 onwards. Only that he attended the trial of the plotters. After that ... zilch.

Does anyone know if he went on to great things?
