I've been doing some research on the Battle of Arcole in November 1796 and I am trying to establish exactly which Grenze Regiment gave the French so much trouble when they tried to cross the bridge.
I know that they were from a brigade commanded by Oberst Wenzel Brigido and I believe that there were present at the battle battalions from the 5th, 6th, 11th, 12th and one from the 16th or 17th Grenze.
What I don't know is which units were assigned to Brigido's command and which battalion(s) held the bridge.

Can anyone help?
