Fraktur and Current

In German, the style of printed letters which you call "gothic alphabet", is called Fraktur or Frakturschrift, and its handwritten variant is called Kurrent or deutsche Kurrentschrift. Of the latter, Sütterlin or Sütterlinschrift is a variant, created at the beginning of the 20th century by the graphic artist Ludwig Sütterlin.
