can someone enlighten me on the general ranks of général d'armée and général de corps d'armée?
I would like to know when they were introduced and how often they were used between 1792 and 1815.
It seems to me that, at least for the time of the French Empire, they were seldom used. Usually you find a Maréchal in command of an army or a corps, later is obviously as the corps system was afaik introduced 1800.

In regards to the général de division & général de brigade, is it corrected that they where introduced in 21st January 1793?
It seems they were very often used but in case someone has numbers on this I would like to know them too.

With regards
