Napoleon Series Archive 2007

Re: Great News- Portuguese arquives

I did a few random selections. First, select the archive, then perquisa (search). The results will be reported. You can actually select two archives (e.g., war and reconstruction and the historical military archives). The result will ultimately be in the form of a description of a document, date, language, brief summary of contents and in some cases (but, it appears not all) a pdf of the actual document.

I only played with it but it does appear that there are many court martial reports available although I cannot be absolutely certain about that as I did not examine the documents themselves.

In any case, this is a great step forward and even during my brief playing with it, I learned quite a bit about the organization of the Portuguese army and its administration -- I also picked up several Portuguese words and phrases.
