As a general principle (I assume your only talking generalities) ALL elements would be arranged as for their places in line, when on the march.
So if the Bn is marching by the right, then in a british example the grenadiers would be leading and light coy at the rear.
Detachments for advanced, rear and flank guards along with/including advanced rear parties complicate this but are very situation (and perhaps at this level even more importantly) commander preference dependent as to offer infinite variations.
Is there a particular situation/aspect you are thinking of?
