The family was belatedly rewarded for its loyalty with vast grants of land on the north shore of the Patapsco River (where Baltimore City stands today). Sir Francis Lovelace (then governor of New York and Ann's brother) helped. One brother returned to England after his wife (and cow) were abducted by Native Americans...otherwise the 125 years between their arrival and the Revolution was only marked by prosperity and happiness.
As Maryland saw little of the Revolutionary War, I suppose my family simply noted the "change in regime" with little satisfaction or resentment. However, much of the family started its emigration to the Northwest Territory thereby escaping the Proto-Marxist in 1780. My great-great-great-grandfather although born in Baltimore before the Revolutionary War was in the Ohio Territory by the 1807...so Robert is merely a distant cousin.
Seems like you know a lot about your family also...care to share?
