Interesting that you mention the RA Museum; I made an e-mail inquiry to them while back on the subject of whether they had any info on saddles used by drivers in the RA during the era; sadly, they could only reply they did not know, but could provide what they knew of the basic sequence of the organization and re-organization of the drivers, up until they were integrated as "gunners" in the RA.

I will get in touch soon, after I get my mind a bit more organized!
