I agree with this - one man's insult is another man's joke, particularly where contributors come from so many different cultures. I think tasteless/offensive remarks should be deleted, but find the worst behaviour to be the endless rounds of Bernadotte/Napoleon/whoever was a bad man/hero - no he wasn't/yes he was, which seem to flare up from time to time. Some people have fixed opinions which no amount of evidence will ever change and these "debates" go nowhere and tend to fuel the inappropriate comments out of sheer frustration. It would be a great pity to lose contributors who add so much for the sake of a silly sarcastic comment (he has made them about me too!)

I don't think the moderator can ever win, but keep up the good work.
