An item has appeared on eBay. The seller markets it as the porte cartes of General Macdonald. It bears an embossed, leather label to that effect but, is otherwise not a very attractive object.

Do we have anyone on the forum who has specialist knowledge of these items? Were they standard issue? Would a general have a large number? Or would this item be strictly personal and unique?
