Re: N`s attitude to German states of the Confedera

But the question remains, what actually happened...and the Confederation wasn't formed until the summer of 1806. Napoleon had the tendency to knee-jerk reactions sometimes initially, and then later, usually when counseled by trusted advisors and subordinates, his tone changed, as did his 'requirements.'

What I have found useful when coming across attitudes and demands such as these, to follow them up and see what actually happened.

This is interesting and quite possible useful information. But it is incomplete and two years before the formation of the Confederation and a year before the Austrian invasion of Bavaria and the choosing of France 'as the lesser of two evils' by Bavaria, Wurttemberg, Baden, and Hesse-Darmstadt.

As an aside and additional question, I wonder what your opinion is of Prussia bullying Saxony into an unsought after alliance in 1806 against France?
