Hello,

I know this is a bit outside the site's history; but I was wondering if anyone had any sources of information about the part played by troops from the various German states who fought for Britain during the American War of Independence in 1770s and 1780s. (Although more general histories would be appreciated as well).

I have got a couple already:
- Max von Eelking (translated by Joseph G Rosengarten), The German Allied Troops in the North American War of Independence (1893)
- Edward J Lowell, The Hesians and the other German Auxiliaries of Great Britain in the Revolutionary War (1884)

I am completing four more biographies for the Napoleon Series about Ansbach-Bayreuth, and the four officers' main military services were in this conflict, as when they entered Prussian service in 1791-1792, they received garrison commands or were retired as they were too old for field service.
