I don't know how good on Alexander this is, but it is terrible on Napoleon! If he had just stuck to the analysis of the two major battles he might have got away with it, after all, no one agrees about Waterloo, but the background history is very poor.

Napoleon wins one battle in Egypt then the next thing you know:

revolution in 1799. Director Barras gave Napoleon command of
the French army. The next day he stormed into the Council of
the Ancients to accuse Directors Barras and Moulins of having
put him the head of a party whose object was to oppose all men
with liberal ideas.<
