That's a very good article, thanks for providing it. There's a lot of information about the naval situation on that part of the coast, it's not just about the Channel Islands.
In answer to my earlier question about whether the French made any attempt to take the islands in the Revolution and Empire period, it seems that there was an expedition planned in early 1794 under general Rossignol which was all set to go when it was diverted to the Vendee.
