Seems to me, resident cynic, that there is clearly a dearth of legitimate historical topics to explore when folks resort to the obvious and cloak it in pseudo-scientific jargon. Or worse, when they dig for the obscure or virtually non-existent and drape it in weighty supposition and endnotes.
