There can be no doubt because of their originality that the vast majority of the Suhr representations are completely reliable. However, three of the plates are more than suspect and it cannot be sure why they were included except that the original material 'came the way' of the artist. These are first the Saxon drum major an obvious copy from Sauerweid, second the Marshall from Martinet and last the Polish Lancer of the Imperial Guard who probably did not visit Hamburg and was a popular and available figure from other sources
