Probably, they followed the Prussian pattern. In Prussia, until 1787, every company had had one flag, in this year the number of flags was reduced to 2 per battalion: for the whole regiment of two battalions: 1 Leibfahne and 3 Regimentsfahnen.

These flags were carried in the center of the battalion, one in the first rank, the other in the third rank. Sometimes, the former was called Avancirfahne, and the latter Retirirfahne.
