Greetings all,

In the recently published Diary of Captain Roger Morrris (Helion), there is a reference made in early January 1795 to a French Republican hussar unit desxribed only as 'the Hussars of La Vendée' who distinguish themsleves in an attack on the British.

I confess I find the sequences of French hussar regiments as represented in sources on and off line utterly baffling. I should be grateful to be guided towards a likely identification of the unit in question, (allowing of course for errors in the British army rumour machine).

Is it possible at least to establish who Captain Morris thought he was referring to?
