While I knew Count Orloff made a point of mentioning the surrender of the redoubt during negotiations and that Monmarte fell while they were being discussed, I was unaware that Savarin demanded his command be included in the armistice or that the Allies denied it. It's also interesting that he may have been in the neighbouring St Denis area rather than the redoubt but I'm not surprised that accounts disagree from long experience.
Anyway, I've been taking a look at the French accounts you've sent that seem to confirm his rank as Colonel but not his first name. I was hoping the regimental listing you sent would include it but, unless I've missed it, I don't think it's there. My main reason for trying to discover it is so I can list it in an index at a later date. I always try to list every officers first Christian name, although sometimes omit them if they have several as many French officers did. It seems like the right thing to do.
