Re: 1. Schlesisches Infanterie-Regt «Rangier Roll

So it could be papers which were taken in the combat at Vauchamps/Etoges on 14th Februry 1814.

On this day, the 1. Schlesisches Infanterie-Regiment lost its two flags and 7 officers dead, 2 wounded and 25 "missing" (prisoners), of the other ranks 759 dead, 186 wounded and 795 "missing". Only 6 officers and 370 other ranks of the whole regiment were present the next day. The high number of "dead" probably has to be read as "probably dead" ...

Another list of the losses of the regiment seems to have been put together some time later, maybe after the campaign, when those separated from the regiment on 14th February had returned. It has 1 offcier dead, 5 wounded and 7 "missing", as well as 12 other ranks dead, 79 wounded and 220 "missing". This seems to be somehow incomplete, though.

PS. Did you get my e-mail sent through the forum ?
