I'm not an acedemic, or a historian, I am just an amateur historian that happens to love the Napoleonic period. I get turned off by all the sniping and arguing ad nauseum about the most inconsequential minutiae of such topics as AN XI vs Gribeauval, and don't even mention prolongue. Many of the Academics on this forum are very gracious to share their research and passion in this forum, and people like me are very grateful. Sometimes, such as the current example, it becomes clear that some of the forum members hold themselves in higher esteem than is warranted. Many people like to read historical fiction, and just because you think it might denigrate the period of your research, don't 'rain on our parade.' Don't forget that many of the members are are just regular sods like myself, and that all this bickering is ruining the Forum that I enjoy. Thank you Mr. Burnham for all that you do for this forum, and for all the unappreciated work and dedication of the Forum members.
