Re: from detachement taken prisoner in february 18

Thanks, poor fellow, dying for three months.

The Prussian 1817 list of decorations gives Heinrich Thiel as having received the 2nd Class of the Iron Cross for Großgörschen (Lützen) inMay 1813:

342. Heinr. Thiel, Feldw. 10. Inf. Reg. (1. Schles.) Gr. Görschen

It is interesting that Thiel becomes Ghiel and his native town Neisse becomes Saissen. It seems he couldn't speak any longer while he was in hospital, and information about him was taken from the "control nominatif" of the detachement of prisoners.

A question about legal terms: The portier Michel Daize and the manouvrier Louis Puiradet [?] ont "comparé" [?] the death. I couldn't find another meaning than "to compare", but is must be something like "to state" or "to confirm" ?

And in the last two lines, the general meaning is clear, of course, but I am in trouble with reading two words:

nous avons signé aprčs en avoir fait ??? aux comparans qui ont
déclaré nous avoir signes, de ce ???
