British light company buglers

Can anyone confirm that the light companies of British regiments - more specifically the Foot Guards regiments - used bugles rather than drums in 1800?

A muster roll of January 1801 lists drummers only, and the only reference that I can find that confirms the use of buglers refers to the 1815 campaign. Did the light companies use bugles before the light infantry reforms undertaken at Shorncliffe? If so, would the term 'drummer' be a generic one for company musicians, so include bugler as well?

Thanks in anticipation.
