I've studied Henry VIII's court extensively and am rather used to the brutality of that age. You didn't have to do anything in order to be executed under Henry. The man had no mercy. Even so, I am loathe to call Henry a tyrant. For all his faults, I like Henry and consider him to be a good king. A great king, even.

But when I compare Emperor Napoleon to King Henry, Napoleon is a soft touch. A very soft touch. He is so lenient it could be referred to as a weakness. A weakness that he could ill afford.

I agree 100% with what you said. You're spot on. I could listen to you talk about Napoleon all day!
