Re: Blanced and modern study of the 1806 campaign?

Hans,

I concur. Bressonnet is the best study on the campaign of 1806. He used French and German sources. Sadly he passed away before completing his book. The retreat and the pursuit of the Prussian army are not covered.
« Napoleon et l’Allemagne, Prusse 1806 » by Tranié and Carmigniani published in 1984 is excellent as well. It is mainly based on Foucart, Bressonnet and Bonnal’s (« La manœuvre d’Iéna ») works. (All available on Gallica).
I am not really found of Naulet’s books ; he brings nothing new.

Do you know if « Der Krieg von 1806 und 1807 » by Lettow-Vorbeck has been translated into French or English ?
