Bardin's MEMORIAL, published in 1813, volume 1, chapter 2, contains an entire chapter on French military law and reproduces the CODE DES DELITS ET DES PEINES, proclaimed on 21 Brumaire, an V, which was in the 1836 Commission report. However, he terms it the CODE PENAL. I take it therefore that this Code was in force throughout the imperial period and beyond. I see no difference in the sections I noted from the 1836 version in my previous post and the 1813 version in Bardin.
