It is a good account - but perhaps there should just be a tiny hint of caution. I have no doubt all this is true, but some of Vionnet's criticism of Napoleon in the rest of his book stems from the fact that he was also tired of war by this time (for the reasosn stated, and others) and very much welcomed the restoration of the Bourbons. Just to give the passage some context.
