Thank you for your observation. I am thinking of puting together a number of papers covering

1. Casualties [Calculation of losses during the period using Digby Smith Data by Allan], possibly the Statistics Journal article of 1856
2. Musket and Rifle trials (Hans translation of Scharnhorst) and some French trials in Pernety.

Other suggestions and short papers are very welcome for the SOJ.

This is an area that has interested me for years without eliciting coherent answers.
