Having been associated with the NS for a lengthy period and seen the long-term corrosive effect of unnecessary behavior on the NS forums, I think that if posters cannot moderate themselves then the someone will have to do it for them. No one likes having to enforce these rules, but the simplest way to avoid them is to behave the way 95% of the posters do.
